How Insurance Works with an Independent Agent
The process is about finding the right company, the right coverage, and having the right people at your side. As independent agents, we are well suited to give you choice and advocacy while earning a long-term relationship.
The Client, Carrier & Agent Relationship
There are 3 parties involved when you choose to use an independent agent.
- You – are the boss. If you don’t like your carrier, or your agent, you let them go.
- The insurance company – has the money. They pay the claims, and they should do so as pleasantly as possible.
- We - work for you. We are your shopper, processor and troubleshooter. We are your steady hand and familiar voice you keep, even when switching carriers.
Primary Carriers, Niche Carriers and Carriers to Avoid
Primary carriers are our stock in trade. They have the broadest portfolio and the most to offer, including dependable claims departments. This is where we first look when shopping.
Then we shop the niche carriers. These are specialists, and they compete well on price, coverage, ease of use, and claims.
But all carriers, especially niche carriers, must be vetted. Not all are ready for prime time – for you.
In a nutshell, Eckert Insurance Group offers preferred policies from preferred carriers to a preferred clientele.
